The Story So Far

Emergence Restock is a community-led circular fashion project, specialising in upcycled, repaired, reworked and pre-loved clothing, created to reduce textile waste, increase access to sustainable fashion, and support skills development within the local community.

Built on over ten years of sustainable fashion practice that began with Madia & Matilda in 2013, Emergence Restock has evolved into a collaborative initiative shaped by the people who take part in it. Makers, volunteers, students, designers, local organisations and residents come together through workshops, events and creative programmes to share skills, repair and remake clothing, and explore new ways of keeping textiles in use.

Based in the Cotswolds, the project is rooted in local partnerships and community involvement. Emergence Restock works with schools, colleges, charities, businesses and community groups to provide accessible opportunities for learning, creativity and environmental action. From hands-on repair sessions to upcycling workshops and clothing redistribution, the focus is on practical solutions that support both people and the planet.

Each garment within Emergence Restock carries a story shaped by those who have worked on it, worn it, repaired it or reimagined it. By keeping heritage and craft alive while embracing innovation, Emergence Restock helps extend the life of clothing, reduce waste and build a more sustainable, connected and resilient community.
