Celebrating Our Impact – And Saying Thank You

Publishing our first impact report is an important milestone for Emergence Commons. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on the progress we've made, acknowledge the challenges of establishing a community-led creative space and, most importantly, recognise the people who have helped us get here.
From our earliest supporters and crowdfunding backers to the volunteers who have given their time, the tutors who have shared their knowledge, the businesses that have offered support and the people who have attended our events, every contribution has played a part.
The impact of Emergence Commons isn't measured solely in the amount of clothing we keep in circulation or the number of workshops we deliver. It's also reflected in the connections we've made, the skills people have developed and the opportunities we've created for independent makers and our wider community.

On Sunday 11 October, we're bringing people together to celebrate these achievements and share our vision for the future.
Our Community Fundraiser, running from 11am–2pm, is an opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Emergence Commons, reconnect with familiar faces and introduce new visitors to the work we're doing.
With music from Jelly on a Plate, creative demonstrations inncluding a display from LaFolle one of our upcoming workshop practictioners, brunch-style food and drinks from Holy Water, we're looking forward to an afternoon that reflects the creativity and community spirit behind the project.

Make a Day of It – Discover UNmaking
Visitors can also explore UNmaking, a contemporary textile exhibition by the Textile Study Group at Museum in the Park, running until 8 November.
The exhibition examines how deconstruction, unravelling and reworking materials can become powerful forms of creative expression. These ideas connect with our own commitment to giving textiles new possibilities through repair, upcycling and redesign.
A separate programme of paid textile workshops accompanies the exhibition, including Polly Pollock's Small Looped Baskets workshop on Sunday 11 October. Advance booking is required for the workshop, but visitors can explore the exhibition independently.
It's a fitting opportunity to bring together Stroud's textile heritage, contemporary making and community-led creativity.

This Sunday is about more than fundraising. It's about recognising what we've achieved together, celebrating the people behind it and inviting everyone to be part of what comes next.
Thank you for being part of Emergence Commons.
